As a solopreneur running a service-based business, you wear a lot of hats. One moment you’re focused on client work, and the next, you’re writing content for your business. But what happens when you feel like your marketing efforts are hitting a wall? Sometimes it’s not about doing more marketing, but about identifying what’s holding you back from moving forward.

This isn’t about providing answers—it’s about helping you uncover where you might feel stuck. Let’s dive into some questions that will help you pinpoint your personal marketing pain points.

1. Are you clear on who your ideal clients are?

Do you have several audiences and find yourself trying to appeal to too broad of an audience or unsure of who you’re really talking to?

2. Do you have a defined marketing strategy?

What is or isn’t working for you when it comes to having a strategy in place? If you desire more strategy, what are the areas where you could use more support?

3. How do you feel about your current online presence?

Is your on-line presence aligned with your brand, and does it speak to your ideal client? Do you have a desire to be more visible and / or discoverable?

4. Do you struggle with creating content that resonates?

Do you enjoy writing blog posts, making videos, or posting on social media? Or do you dread it, feeling unsure of what to say or how to create content that captures attention and drives action?

5. Do you feel like you’re throwing ideas out there and unsure if they’re working?

Have you defined ways to evaluate and measure your efforts in a way that feels aligned with what’s important to you?

6. Do you have a defined cadence for your marketing efforts?

Have you defined what consistency and a cadence looks like for you to make intentional time for your marketing? Is ‘consistency’ defined by what feels good to you or by someone else?

7. Do you feel overwhelmed with too many ideas?

Do you find yourself jumping from one marketing idea to the next without fully executing any of them? Are you overwhelmed by all the possible directions you could go, making it hard to settle on a clear plan?

8. Anything else?

Are there other marketing pain points not listed above, but may be holding you back mentally or emotionally?
